“Oh, the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we’ve no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” To be honest, I have a slight issue with this sentence–the part where it talks about “no place to go”. Who says that there is no place to visit during the winter?
There are plenty of them and so beautiful they are that one might lose their breath. For instance, Florida, especially, downtown St. Augustine, is known to be decorated with lights. From the middle of November to the end of January, the festival of light continues here. Many tourists across the globe flock here particularly to witness this beauty, which is otherwise known as nights of lights.
However, this is not just it! There are many more places around the world that sport beautiful decorations during the season of snow as well as host a variety of winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding. This happens to be the perfect time for all the adventure lovers to rock their men’s or womens shell ski jacket by Arcteryx (or a similar brand), leather boots, and shades, and extract the most fun out of the white world outside. Many others also see this as an opportunity to spend quality time with their family.
Nevertheless, the truth is that not everyone loves to move around during the holidays when it is snowing outside. For some, it is the time to sit at home and indulge themselves in making some memories at home–I am one of those people.
Since it’s getting cooler as Winter draws near, I would like to be at home making some homemade memories. How do I do that? Well, stay tuned to learn about it!
Truthfully, this is the time that makes me think of SNOW! If only it snowed here…that would be AMAZING! We do have some snow up on Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa mountains, believe it or not. Not many people realize it really does snow in Hawaii! It’s a long ways away though, far from any homes.
Anyway…while we dream of snowy days ahead…here are 10 fun SNOWFLAKE crafts to help celebrate the coming of the Winter season. These are fun to do with the kids, especially with them being off for Winter break soon. The best part is that you only need a few stationary items to make them, like sugru glue (check out the product at sugru.com), craft paper, strings, clothespin, and paint.
Try them out and let me know which ones you like. And if you have any other SNOWFLAKE craft ideas, then do not forget to share them with me. I’d love to hear all about them. After all, sharing is caring! I have seen some people find this wintery period a great time to start some sewing patterns off, and those a bit more advanced, are a dab hand at dealing with machine embroidery designs to create some pretty amazing crafts! But for now, let’s focus on our snowflake designs, who knows, it may get you doing your own.
