Homemade Slip n’ Slide

It was a beautiful sunny Sunday, and we had no plans.  So, we decided to make a big slip n’ slide down our hill.  The kids had a blast!  We used a big tarp and Dawn dishwashing liquid to get it slippery.  We do own one of those store bought slip n’ slides, and it works well enough, but it’s so narrow that the kids usually slide off the sides.  That wasn’t gonna happen with this one!  It was the perfect way to spend a little FUN in the SUN!

Great idea! My kids are using their slip-n-slide from the store, but I think the homemade ones that I used as a kid are so much better!

I agree, they are too narrow. We actually have one and the kids slide off the sides! And of course adults can’t go on it! The tarp is so much more durable 🙂

This is so neat! We bought a huge slip n slid from Walmart but my three year old cannot get the hang of it. we had to add a ton of dish soap to make her slide around!

We made a slip n slide out of plastic sheeting at my sons birthday party! It was a blast, even for us adults! We used dish liquid too, and baby soap and when that ran out we used vegetable oil!
