I loved the way my sister’s baby shower turned out. Turquoise and purple were the perfect colors to give it a true mermaid feel.
The decor was perfect. The tissue paper pom-pom balls, which were connected together and hung from a beam were my favorite part of the overall decor. They had artificial flowers (like the ones you get at Silk by Design) to keep the place cheery and they looked great for the occasion. For lunch, we had a “make your own” taco bar with fish, shrimp, flour tortilla’s and tortilla bowls, spanish rice, and all the toppings. There was also a cheese platter, fruit salad, green salad, desserts, and more!
We played some fun games, including “Guess how old?” where you had to guess the age of my sister and her boyfriend in their childhood photos. For “The Price is Right”, everyone had to guess the total cost of all the items on the net. There were three jars filled with gummy octopus, eels, and shells where we had to guess how many were in each jar. My favorite was the Memory Game. Behind each number there was a word, such as “triplets”, find the matching word and you win the candy that’s associated with that word. For example, if you matched “triplets” you won a 3 musketeers bar. If you chose “epidural”, you won lifesavers! It was lots of fun. The last game we played was Baby Gift BINGO. Before my sister opened up her gifts everyone filled out the squares on their BINGO card with items they thought my sister would be opening. If you had written down diapers, and she opened a pack of diapers, you could cross that space out. Match all in a row, and you get BINGO!
Doesn’t it sound like a great Baby Shower? It was so nice to get together with family and friends to celebrate a new Blessing who will be joining us soon!
