Bali Vacation with Kids

If it weren’t for the dreaded COVID-19 outbreak our world is currently going through, my family would likely have been headed to Bali for the fourth time! It would have been the third time for my daughters and the fourth time for my husband and I. We love Bali and encourage other families to make it their next vacation destination!

Top 5 Reasons to take a vacation to BALI

  1. It’s a learning EXPERIENCE
  2. The FOOD
  3. The overall COST
  4. So much to EXPLORE
  5. To RELAX

If you’ve been wondering, “Out of all the places they could travel in this world, why do they keep going back to Bali?” Those are the reasons. There’s just something about Bali that draws you in. There are many luxury travel experts who believe that Bali is one of the most visited places on earth because of its stunning beaches and magical temples. Furthermore, Bali is home to some of the prettiest flower gardens, lush green landscapes, and rice fields you have ever seen. There are so many things to say about Bali, but it’s hard to describe the feeling.

After leaving, we always feel a bit of Bali withdrawals. The last day in Bali is always so sad!

My family and I have travelled to the other Hawaiian Islands. We’ve been to Las Vegas, Disney World and Disney Land. When I ask our kids where they’d like to go, it’s always “Bali”. We love it so much, we’re seriously considering moving there some day!  We’re hoping to stay for at least two months the next time we go. We normally stay for just under a month and the time flies by way too fast. We’re never ready to leave.

5 Fun Things to do with Kids in Bali

  1. Bali Safari Park
  2. Lounge at your villa. Swim in the pool. Relax.
  3. Bike ride with Awesome BALI Cycling
  4. Bali Wake Park & Aqualand
  5. Go wherever the day leads you

The Bali Safari Park was much more than we expected. There were a variety of animals including tigers & elephants. A few shows. The opportunity to ride an elephant, which I know many people don’t agree with, but if it’s something you want to do, it is an option. A petting zoo, rides and a little water park area. There are different ticket options you can purchase. We purchased one that came with a buffet lunch. If you plan on going to Bali Safari Park, try to get there at opening and be ready to spend the entire day! I was surprised with how much the park offered.

We love staying in different areas and renting our own private villas. These villas are amazing! The kids LOVE it. Their favorite part? The pool! We always make sure our villa of choice comes with a pool. The kids can literally spend all day swimming and playing in the pool. Definitely be sure to keep a few free days in your schedule.  Be sure to pack your swimsuits, as you’ll definitely be putting them to use! The best thing about Bali is relaxing and enjoying the moment. We’ve stayed in Uluwatu, Bingin, Seminyak, Legian and Canggu. You’ll be able to find great villas in all of these locations.

We decided to try a bike ride and there were a few companies to choose from. It was definitely a great, unforgettable experience that was so much more than just bike riding. We started off with a meal at a nice restaurant where we had some yummy food. After the meal, we met up with our tour guides and chose our bikes. We were a party of 8 and had a private tour, which was great. One thing I must say, if you have little children, consider having them ride tandem with an adult or guide. My daughter, who had just turned 9, decided to ride her own bike. It was nerve-wracking, to say the least! Though she can ride, she doesn’t have the best control. Being that we were riding on a public street with other vehicles coming in both directions, it was a little scary. The guides were AMAZING.

We spent my daughters ninth birthday at Bali Wake Park & Aqualand. While the dads spent some time wake boarding, moms and daughters headed to Aqualand. Aqualand consists of a bunch of sturdy inflatables which form a sort of obstacle course on the lake. We all had a blast running, jumping, climbing and playing. The best part? The park was fairly empty and we had Aqualand to ourselves for a majority of the time. After an hour or so, we were exhausted and ready for lunch. We enjoyed a yummy meal of Nasi Goreng.

When traveling in Bali, you’ll soon learn to go wherever the day leads you. If there are places you must visit, be sure to fit those into your schedule, but it’s best not to have a strict schedule as you never know what’ll pop up or what you’ll feel like doing day to day. There’s so much to do, I can guarantee you’ll run out of days before you do them all! Whether you want to go shopping, atv riding, surfing, ice skating, or just relaxing at the beach, Bali has it all!

If you’re convinced, and ready to plan your trip, here’s a little something to help get you started.
