There’s nothing in the world more important than my girls. Their well-being is my number one priority. Because of this, it’s so important to choose a car seat that will keep them safe while going for rides.
I was given the opportunity to have my girls try out the Diono Radian RXT. The Diono Radian family of car seats are the only Convertible+Booster car seats with a full steel frame making them one of the safest car seats available today.

When seeing this car seat for the first time, I could tell Diono really put a lot of thought into the overall design of it. There are so many features on the Radian RXT that I have never seen on any of the previous car seats I have owned throughout the years. Not only is it safe, but by the looks of it, It’s really comfy too!
The Radian RXT has a narrow body so you can easily fit three of these seats in most mid-size vehicles. Although it’s nice and slim and doesn’t look bulky at all, I was surprised by how heavy it is. The Radian RXT weighs 26.15 lbs. It measures 28.5″ H x 17″ W x 16″ D when open and 28.5″ H x 17″ W x 10″ D when folded. The seat is FAA Certified for aircraft use, but because of it’s weight, I’d probably bring along a lighter seat when traveling. If you choose to travel with the seat, there is an option to buy straps which will allow you to carry it as a back pack, so that’s always an option.
With a 10 year life span, this may just be the only car seat you’ll ever need to buy. It seats children rear facing from 5-45 pounds and forward facing from 20-80lbs. in a 5 point harness. It also converts to a booster for kids 50 – 120 lbs. and 40 to 57 inches tall. My three and a half year old is a little over 30 pounds, and she fits in the seat perfectly. My seven year old is about 50 pounds and she fits comfortably as well, although she wouldn’t be able to fit for much longer as her shoulders are almost touching the head support.

Along with the car seat I also received the Diono SuperMat. This is something that I definitely could have used all these years! My leather seats are permanently indented from my daughters car seats, and I believe if I had used one of these from the beginning, that could have been prevented. This SuperMat features high density foam panels and are LATCH an UAS compatible. It’s also waterproof. There are also some pockets at the bottom to keep little things organized. I’m certain my 3 year old will utilize those pockets, as she loves bringing little toys into the car.

First, I love that it has the 5 shoulder and 3 buckle positions to deliver a comfortable ride for children as they grow. It gets harder to buckle our 2 year old granddaughter in her car seat because she is growing so fast and the buckles pinch her thighs. Second, it folds flat for travel, which is very important for our family.
The thing that I like best is that it is really the only seat you will need for your growing child. The fact that it can be a booster seat if wonderful as your child gets older. If I won this I would give it to a friend at work who is expecting this summer.

How old do you have to be to use this car seat?
There’s a minimum weight of just 5 pounds, so most newborns can already use it!
The steel frame for safety is very nice to have. The fact you can fit 3 a cross is amazing itself. Great looking seat.

The safety features are most important to me, but I also love that this will fit 3 across, I drive a tiny car and only have 2 but I’m hoping this will allow one of my teens to fit in the middle of the 2 seats. I love how narrow it is. I would love to move my 7yo from a low back booster to this. None of the HBBs in my price range fit in my car with the two other seats.
Youe 7 year old mowt liekly wouod not fit in this seat. 7 year olds are perfectly safe in backless boosters provided the belt fits corrextly and they are matire enough.
Although she does fit in this seat, since she’s 7 we prefer a backless booster for her. I understand that some taller children won’t fit because their shoulders would touch the head support piece. In fact, my seven year old wouldn’t fit for much longer.

Oh I love this seat! I have been a fan for several years of the Radian but have never owned one. I love the slim design and that it does all three steps, safely and effectively. I would be using it for my daughter. This would so help with three kids in the back of a Grand Prix !

I have two of these carseats on my baby registry right now. I’ve done extensive research by myself and decided this would be the safest for my kids. I really need four of them, but can’t afford even one. It’d be awesome to win it, so I can keep my child safer.

Love these seats; totally the dream seat, but three of them gets very expensive so they remain my dream seat. Would LOVE one for my oldest, who is 7 years old and autistic/ADHD, because it would keep him harnessed longest until he is seat belt booster only ready, then could be passed to his older little sister, and down the line since they have such a long expiration period.

Besides having one of the highest safety ratings, the 10 year lifespan is ideal. And despite the weight, I like that it can be carried as a backpack with the additional straps. Having your hands free is so nice at the airport!

I am obsessed with this seat! Everything sounds amazing, especially the low sides and memory foam seat! I have a tall skinny girl, and since we have to move regularly for the military and they’re always long road trips, I want a comfortable seat for her! After a disastrous 3 day trip to our most recent location I’m in the market for something she LOVES. I waffle on it because of the hefty price tag but the 10 year life span may just be worth it! Fingers crossed!

Oh so many things I love about this seat. We have one for my almost 2 year old and I’d LOVE to win one for the babe we have due in August. The weight limit keeps them in the seat for a long time, I LOVE the narrow base, sturdy frame, head support, twist-resistant straps, love it!

What I like most? Besides everything? The size, the vibrant colours and the angle on of the back. I love the fact that this seat can fit 3 in the back seat of a car. I love the bright vibrant colours to keep your kids entertained a little bit on those long drives. Last but not least I love the angle of the back, I don’t understand why other car seats even when your child is forward facing they are still reclined.
I love the increase in weight limit for rear-facing capability! The slim design is a plus in maintaining amble room for additional seats, if needed. But the steel frame, longevity, crash testing and overall safety of this seat is what sold us!

I absolutely love my RXTs. I love that they are low profile and should easily rear face my son to his 4th birthday. I would love to win this for a friend who is expecting her second child soon. A child is easily protected from the front and back addition of the strength of the aluminum sidewalls is something very good, that others don’t protect as well. I would feel safer with a seat like this for my 2 year old grandson.

I love this seat for many reasons, it’s steel frame and headwings give me peace of mind that my kiddo is as safe as can be. This seat is one of the few that will allow 3 across in our small suv.
