Do you find yourself dealing with stress and anxiety from time to time? It can be so difficult to deal with at times. I know the feeling all too well. You may feel stuck, and unsure of what to do to relieve yourself of the unbearable feelings of stress and anxiety.
There are a few things I do when these feelings start to invade my overall sense of well-being. For instance, going out for a walk, seeing friends, discussing what’s on my mind with family, maybe indulging in self-care, etc. There can be other aids as well, such as cannabis and marijuana products (click here to learn more) which might help to alleviate stress and anxiety. You can go through my list of items to see if anything can work for you…
Drink a hot cup of tea – A cup of tea can be really soothing in times of stress. In fact, certain types of teas, such as Chamomile are known to help calm, soothe and relax.
Meditate – Find a quiet, relaxing spot and try meditating to clear your mind.
Color your stress away – Coloring isn’t only for kids! relive your stress and anxiety by coloring in adult coloring books. “Keep Calm and Color On” is a personalized coloring book where beautiful coloring pages are peppered with inspiring quotes to calm your mind and lift your spirits.
Take a nice hot bath – There aren’t many things that are quite as relaxing as a nice hot bath. If you have a jacuzzi, even better! Get in that tub, close your eyes, and unwind. Sometimes, while in the bath, I like to
Get lost in a good book – I love finding books that I just can’t put down. Getting lost in a good book is a great way to get your mind on something other than what you’re stressing about.
Lunch date with a close friend or family member – My friends and family always help to lift my spirits. Along with being able to share what’s bothering you, (sometimes you just need to vent and let it all out) you can also reminisce. Share happy memories and fun times while getting in some good laughs! You can call your closest people over to your place, order some good food and maybe a rosin press (for some extra relaxation with cannabis probably), and vent your heart out. Planning a home lunch date gives you the freedom of venting out loud without worrying about who’s hearing you.
Go for a swim – The ocean always soothes my soul. It’s calming, relaxing and refreshing. A great escape from the daily grind.
Get some sleep – Sometimes, when I’m over-worked, or just haven’t been getting much rest, I tend to get stressed out more easily. A good night’s sleep is essential for feeling well rested and rejuvenated. I know it really is easier said than done. Sometimes, when I’m feeling stressed or anxious, my mind won’t stop and even though I try, I can’t fall asleep. During those times, i’ve taken melatonin, which really does seem to help. Besides Melatonin, some people also consider consuming cannabis for sound sleep. For instance, I have a friend who had been suffering from insomnia for a long time. He tried almost every kind of medication available on the face of the earth. Alas! He never got any positive results until he tried out “the herb”, possibly CBD oil (those interested can buy Blessed CBD for cheap by visiting the website of the online dispensary). Now he looks fresher unlike how he was earlier–cranky and depressed.
Listen to your favorite music and SING out loud! – Music helps to calm my nerves. Last year, I traveled alone to California for work. I always pick an aisle seat because I have a slight case of claustrophobia. Somehow, I let the lady at the counter talk me into picking an aisle seat this time. It was an over night flight, and she said it would be more comfort to lean on the window. As soon as I sat down, I knew I was in trouble. Then came the person who’s seat was next to mine and I immediately felt my anxiety coming on. I got up and walked to the front of the plane where I explained my situation to the flight attendant. Luckily, there was an open aisle seat up front. I still felt a little anxious, so I put on my earphones and listened to Bob Marley! Reggae music soothes my soul. I closed my eyes, and sang along in my head. As I listened to the music, my anxiety lessened and I felt so much better!
Go for a run – Getting some exercise, like running, can be quite the stress relief. It’s a great way to relieve your frustrations in a healthy way as you focus on pushing yourself to go further.
Stress and anxiety can have a great effect on daily work. Sometimes, the above tips can help, however, if you have serious issues like alcohol or drug addiction, the pain can be insufferable. You would need professional help from an institution like The Dawn (a Thailand drug rehab center) to help you find peace.
The root cause of anxiety may not be always evident. Find professional help if you find yourself depressed and can’t deal with the situation properly. You do not have to fight the battle yourself, there is always help available.
