Kids, they love electronics. At least my kids do! In this day and age, electronic gadgets are a part of most kids lives. I know my kids are always attracted to electronic items, whether it’s an iPad, cell phones or cameras they seem to gravitate towards these things. When I heard I’d have the chance to try out the new VTech InnoTab 3S, I was excited. I was 100% positive, my kids would enjoy it!
When my 3 year old saw the box she instantly showed interest. She stood there and kept asking to play with it, even though I hadn’t yet set it up! The entire set-up process was simple and quick. I tried out the different functions before handing it over to my 3 year old to give it a try.
The VTech InnoTab 3S is an electronic learning tablet made just for kids ages 3-9. It’s nice and compact, lightweight, and seems to be built well and pretty durable. The InnoTab 3S comes with 4GB of on-board memory and you can expand the memory up to 32GB with a micro SD card. The VTech InnoTab 3S includes wi-fi capabilities which is great. It includes 20 Apps! It comes pre-loaded with 16 Onboard Apps including an e-reader, video recorder, photos, music and more. It also comes with a Read, Play & Create cartridge which includes 3 additional Apps. You get 1 free downloadable App as well. You can purchase additional downloadable apps starting at $2.99. Cartridges can be purchased for $24.99.
The InnoTab 3S features VTech Kid Connect – a ground-breaking communication app that brings families together by allowing kids to be connected with their parents and friends through both tablet-to-mobile and tablet-to-tablet communication – anytime, anywhere. With the InnoTab 3S kids can send text messages and animated stickers to parents’ smartphones. Upon set-up I used the camera to take my daughters profile picture. The 2.0 MP camera leaves much to be desired. The photo was taken in my bedroom, and it was dark and grainy. I guess you can’t really expect much from a 2.0 MP camera. I do like the fact that the camera rotates 180 degrees. With this feature you are able to take self-portraits as well as pictures of your surroundings. Of course, my girls don’t seem to notice the poor camera quality and enjoyed taking pictures with the InnoTab 3S. They really enjoyed all of the fun effects, there are 55!
I tried a few of the apps and found the e-book to be my favorite. The images were nice and bright, making it fun for kids. The story is read out loud and you can use the stylus to touch different parts of the screen to get various interactions. It’s a great App for my six year old who is a beginning reader as she can read along and learn new words. My three year old will have to spend some time learning how to use the InnoTab 3S, but my six year old figured everything out pretty quickly on her own.

My favorite thing is the rechargeable batteries! Batteries are expensive. I like the camera for a three year old to take pictures, the e reader for getting age appropriate books, expandable storage with SD card…. And I could go on! Sounds too wonderful to be true!!! Exciting!!!

I love how simple this product is to use. My son had an original Innotab until it was accidentally broken by Daddy.
I love a lot of things about this but my favorite one is the durability. I have 2 little boys who are a handful so I try to buy things that will last and this would definitely fit the bill!

This is a really cool gadget. my 5 and 4 year ol would enjoy this this. Kids today so curious about technology even if they don’t really understand yet how to play with it, but it’s good to have them started early with playthings like this one.

I love the fact it looks like an I pad or similar product. With this kids get to feel grown up and not like they are playing with a toy.
What I like best is that it comes preloaded with apps – and you can buy more apps which is a whole lot cheaper than buying lots of cartridges.

I really love that it has a camera. True the MP is not great but it is mainly for little kids so it’s not too much of a negative for me. I also love that there is a wide variety of apps to choose from. This helps to keep kids interested and gives choices.

There are so many things that I like. I like that is has a large range of years that it is good for and that you can buy additional cartridges for it. The durability is important and so it the fact that it is an e-reader for the older kids.

It’s the camera that would be a huge hit with the kids.
I love that it has a space for an SD card. Many of these other expensive tablets don’t have that. Our kids love music and movies and we wouldn’t be able to put them on the other ones.

Whats not to love about this! Its perfect for kids, durable and so functional for little kids. My little boy who loved my Ipad 2 smashed it by accident on the floor but this is made for little hands which makes it a must have.
My favorite feature is the read aloud ebooks that can be used! This would be awesome to give to my niece who LOVES to read books!

I like any toy that has educational value. Kids love electronics, and the VTECH InnoTab 3S is a perfect platform to teach them how to use computer tablets. They want to use products like this. On top of it all, the games stimulate their mind while the camera allows them to explore their world. This is a great item I think will be on many kids’ Christmas list this year!

We have the original innotab, and it was a really great product for my child, so I’m super thrilled to see this new updated version. The camera feature is really cool, my daughter loves to use my phone to snap pics of fun stuff, but with this built in capability I don’t have to relengwish my phone anymore!! Also the rechargeable battery pack is so awesom and will help on trip to the battery drawer, that the previous modle drained more batteries than I could keep up on. All in all it looks like the same great kids tablet, which is so awesome so that I don’t have to buy an iPad for a 3 year old.
