Subscription boxes are the best thing ever, and I love finding out about new ones. I recently came across the Red Carpet Box, and I am so excited to be sharing it with all of you. This box is amazing, and for just $30.99 a month ($25 for the box + 5.99 shipping) you sure do get your money’s worth!
When my package arrived, I was so excited to see that it was gold! Yes, gold! I had never before seen a gold package, and that really got me anxious to open it up and see what was inside. I was surprised with how much products fit into that package! Everything but the purse was nicely wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. I thought that was so neat, it was just like opening a present! From the start I couldn’t help but think what a great gift this would make for someone. I LOVE surprises and this bag was sure filled with surprises, more than I could have ever imagined.
I quickly got everything out of the package, one of which was a very cute light pink purse! You can imagine my excitement as I never thought I’d get a purse in a subscription box. There was one more product wrapped in tissue paper along with a surprise that I’ll talk about a little later. The surprise was a sneak peak into what you’ll find in November’s Red Carpet Box. Upon opening the purse, I found it was stuffed with more items, all wrapped up and ready to be opened. I couldn’t wait to see what each item was.
In total, the October Red Carpet Box included 8 items. There was a list of contents included that neatly listed each item. First off I received some makeup. Included in the bag were Korres Eye Shadow, Avon Eyeliner, Borghese Nail Laquer, and a Korres Lip Gloss Sample. The lip gloss sample is nicely sized, and will last a while! This month’s sponsor is Nailtiques and they provided the Nailtiques Nail Protein and Color Laquer. There was a bonus sample packet of eye serum also included.
But wait, that’s not all! I was thrilled to receive the Big Buddha Sunglasses. Included in each bag was a random pair of Big Buddha or Betsey Johnson Sunglasses. Mine are white, and I’m so happy with them. What I really like is that I normally wouldn’t have bought a white pair of sunglasses, but after trying them on I found that they fit well and look pretty stylish. I must say, they were a great addition to this month’s box. Also, in the box was a pretty necklace on a silver chain. The last item as I mentioned before was the purse.
If you have never tried a subscription box before, I highly recommend you start with this one! If you are one who already loves subscription boxes, give the Red Carpet Box a try. You won’t be disappointed.
There are only 50 Red Carpet Boxes available each month. If you order a November box you’ll have the option to choose an Urban Decay Package which will feature a couple great Urban Decay Products. There are 25 Urban Decay Packages available and the other 25 will include the Korres Kings & Queens Bath set along with 2 full sized products. Both packages will include Swarovski Jewelry and other fashion goodies. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Be sure to get your orders in starting November 1st as supplies are limited!

Have you checked to see if the products are expired or discontinued? Her first boxes of stuff were expired and discontinued and her vendors are from EBay. She bought the glasses off ebay so there’s a chance those are counterfeit. Some of the jewelry maybe from Little Black Bag where she has an account and opens bags often. So if I were you and I were a beauty blogger I’d do more research on this company and the products she sends out before recommending it.
malia says
I checked the products and don’t see an expiration date on any of them. If they are discontinued, that doesn’t really bother me as long as they are still safe to use. I also wouldn’t want them to be expired, but as far as I can tell, they are not. As for the glasses, exactly how do you know where they were purchased? As a buyer of the Red Carpet Bag I wouldn’t really care where the items came from, but of course, I would expect them to be real products rather than counterfeit. As for the jewelry, I love little black bag and if she does get them from there, that doesn’t bother me either. Thanks for your concern, I do understand where you’re coming from. I always make it a point to give an honest review, which is what I did. I really thought the October Red Carpet Box was great, and I can see it becoming very popular! I’ll be contacting the owner so I can hear her side of the story.
Red Carpet Box says
Dear Malia,
I knew this was going to happen. I sent you via FB a personal invoice that I do buy from alltherageonline.com as a wholesale buyer and I hope you got that email. I have always had a wholesale Federal Tax ID and I buy from wholesalers. By the way, MANY wholesalers ALSO do business on eBay. It is common practice. You can find lots of almost anything GENUNINE from a REAL wholesaler. Not to say there are not counterfeiters, there most certainly are. There are not many genuine wholesalers on eBay and many of mine are ones I have had to scour for many months ahead to find product, such as the purses. Funny how people can find sunglasses on eBay but not the purses! That’s because I buy the purses in pallets with my Federal ID in wholesale. I am able to buy in bulk both places, but now, and preferably, it is well-known wholesalers only and they may or may not also sell on eBay. I am going to admit that my first month in business was not a grand moment for me. As a matter of fact, the first wholesaler I went to for Stila cosmetics sold me hundreds of dollars of Stila, some of which was expired, some of which was not. I NEVER even considered that someone would sell me hundreds of dollars of expired product! Never! It certainly looked all brand new to me and was packaged very well. I even used some myself and it all went on like a dream! I learned a valuable and hard lesson in wholesale right off the bat. Always check out the product that you are sent (as a buyer). I DO have an alltherageonline account and sent proof of it to both Malia and Jen on Facebook. As a matter of fact, my dear mother in law paid for my order that is to go into boxes next month for Christmas and both Jen and Malia have seen my invoice. I’m not on LBB that much as I actually do have a job to do and seven children to raise. It doesn’t make much sense that I’d have over twenty pieces of JUST All the Rage. I love all the rage, but honestly it costs way less buying it wholesale! At least to me, that doesn’t make sense why I would go to all the trouble to only get All The Rage items to put into my boxes and even let us say I DID for instance, what does it matter if it was brand new? I certainly wouldn’t mind. I do like other pieces of jewelry and my last purchase with LBB I had gotten a Kenneth Jay Lane pearl twisted ring worth 100.00, not an all the rage piece. When many of my customers emailed me about the Stila, I responded. I responded that since I paid for priority shipping and some pieces were not expired and I needed the product mailed back, that our policy was to have the makeup shipped back and they would be given a product that was not expired, which is our policy. Also, for those that wanted the entire box credited, the entire box must be shipped back and the entire box would have been credited per the websites policy. MANY paypal complaints were filed, but NONE were won by customers because they did not follow paypal’s directions to ship my products back to me. The “fake” ones that went into the trash? The awful makeup that is so “old and unusable”? “Why wouldn’t these products be mailed back for resolution”. I asked paypal? Paypal said this happens all the time! The new scam apparently that Paypal has explained to me is that some people think you get to keep your “claimed counterfeit items” and “expired makeup you would still use but not admit to using” AND some people think you are getting a refund too! So far, paypal has given NO ONE who has asked for the money back because of MUT AND their refusal to mail the items in an unused (or really any) state. That alone gave them all the evidence and the awful and distasteful things said alone on the forum MUT, honestly sickened some of the paypal managers. Your postings did not help. Me being a new company owner for the first month I did business, they understood how things went wrong and they also saw how much money I used out of my own paypal account for things and WHY some things went wrong. Paypal even gave me advice on how to deal with wholesalers! They said they are NOT playing a game of keep the new company’s stuff and still get a refund. Again, the postings on MUT absolutely did not help anyone trying to get their money back, either. Companies are allowed to ask for their products back with the original tags and boxes intact before they issue a refund. I had paid priority mail service for free as a promotion since it was my first month in business in September. Paypal has told me that this type of forum stuff is becoming more common and it actually helps them when they are investigating refunds. There was another issue with my first month not mentioned by anyone but I WILL mention it. It was embarrassing. It was my first time ever buying from a certain jewelry wholesaler. I saw some beautiful boxed earrings with a price tag 79.99. They looked beautiful online. The description of the earrings were “QVC Quality Earrings” or it might have said “QVC Style Earrings” something to that effect. I am trying to be as accurate as possible but it is also almost 3 AM in the morning here :). Okay, so, I immediately got excited because there were literally thousands of these on pallets and I thought they genuinely were somehow QVC related or why would they describe them as such? Before they were even shipped to me, I had posted about them. Bad mistake. Big one. I admit to it. Some people loved them, some people hated them with a passion (which I think is going to be common no matter what with personal styles) but this was not a personal style issue. The issue was the little black price tags that said these earrings were worth 79.99. I even agreed with my customers on FB that at most, I would retail value them at 10.00 as many were very pretty in my own opinion. Still, it made some people angry. I HATED that I actually believed these earrings were in some way QVC related! I HATED those little black tags. I contacted the company that I bought them from and I gave them my opinion that these earrings caused some problems because they were misleading in two ways: the price tags and the QVC relation (of which there was none). For some people on the earring issue who were truly unhappy, I took of care many people privately resolving the issue. Many people loved the earrings despite the above mentioned issues. From now on, even if I DO believe my sunglasses in particular are authentic, I will not claim them to be and simply call them “Fashion Designer Sunglasses”. I like to offer pretty and fashionable sunglasses in particular and I have access to what is called ”shelf pulls” from department stores from wholesalers that are name brand, but if I’m constantly going to be attacked on authenticity issues, I absolutely want to keep offering pretty glasses, but if it makes people feel better, I’ll just call them ”Fashion Designer Sunglasses”. It’s a shame because as I am learning, I am learning that I must offer the best that I can buy without actually marketing it! Because I’ve been attacked on so many levels, it will just have to be this way until I am a well-established and trusted company. I need to go to bed now as I have a family to care for in the morning and a business I need to run, but I do want to say thank you to Malia for her HONEST review! Malia is known for being honest and has a huge following who trust her. That is why my partner and I Jen chose Malia to do a review. We could depend on her to give an honest review. We did not pay her, bribe her, beg her, nothing inappropriate at all! For someone to accuse her of something like that is someone who obviously does not know her sincere character. I also stand by my company Red Carpet Box as well. As a first time buyer of cosmetics and jewelry wholesale, I made some mistakes and now I am trying to rectify them by offering premium products and keep up the priority shipping so that my customers may enjoy their products as soon as possible! Because of MUT and their paid moderators, they have gone to every avenue possible to damage my company even not being customers themselves for the most part. I only hope that by continuously offering the best of the best and offering the best of the best customer service, I can keep moving in a positive direction. Every company has made a mistake of some sort, I am sure of it. I am honestly and sincerely sorry that any of the above issues happened at all and hope to prove to my clientele and future clientele alike that I have learned much in the industry and have even reached out to others in the industry for well-needed guidance. Most Sincerely, Patricia Martin. Founder of Red Carpet Box.

I would like to know when and how Paypal gave you that information. The FDA website said that discontinued items may be discontinued because they are not safe, and based on when they are discontinued, they may also be expired. So, as long as it all comes in the original packaging, there shouldn’t be any problems telling if there are issues with it. You can always call the company that makes the product and ask them. Like Stila, or Urban Decay. Tell them what product you have and the shade/lot number, or look it up online. Then you can tell if it is safe to use. Why not use it if it is still good?!

Also, I wanted to address the issue of discontinued products. We do sometimes offer them! Korres is one of the brands we have lots of product with and they are considered in the category of ”discontinued” not ”expired”. I contacted Korres personally and they assured me they were only discontinued and not expired and beautiful items on amazon and other popular sites still sell Korres in particular. Some of my favorite products such as Korres are discontinued. We hope that the Urban Decay month of November really does put renewed faith and momentum in Red Carpet Box. I never did explain what you would get in a Red Carpet Box package! We actually nixed the Korres package and now we have plenty of Urban Decay only packages to distribute for the month of November.
For the month of November for instance:
2 full sized Urban Decay Products
Genuine Swarovski carded and made in the USA jewelry
1 purse
First 25 subscribers receive a full size Etsy Sponsor lip balm
Every subscriber receives a full size duo nail kit by Nailtiques
A surprise fashion item
Some surprise bonus items

I am sorry, but I am just not feeling this subscription service. I don’t see the value of this subscription box. When I subscribe to a service, I do so because they send out samples of brands that I cannot get on my own as a regular shopper. But, the Korres gloss sample and the eyeshadow for example can EASILY be bought from websites and I am not even talking about Ebay! I know a website where the same Korres lip gloss can be bought in FULL size for $5! The same goes for the eyeshadow too! (I have bought cosmetics off of that website at least twice and haven’t had any issues)
So, I don’t understand why one would want to pay for cheap samples that you can get on your own. To me, the bag and the chain look cheap and tacky. It feels like you are paying the money to have someone go shopping for you and have them buy cheap stuff, which MIGHT or might not be to your taste. Instead, one can take their $30.99 and buy something you really want! I thought Glossybox was expensive at $20, but after seeing this one, I feel I can get on board with Glossybox for $20. I don’t even want to argue that this one sends accessories in theirs, coz to me as I mentioned before the accessories look really cheap…

I love boxes like these. I especially love Julep!
Tricia says
This box looks horrible. I certainly do not want expired products be it korres, Avon, or anyone else. The jewelry looks like something in the kiddie toy section that comes on a piece of cardboard and hangs on a rack at the dollar store. And the polish? Don’t know how long it has been discontinued either. I don’t want anybody to pick out my sunglasses either because I want to make sure they are safe. Not saying these aren’t, but I would not wear them because I don’t know for sure that they are safe and will protect my eyes from the UV rays. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would pay $34 for this. Sorry, but I just don’t get it.
malia says
Sorry, but I never said they were expired, maybe you heard that elsewhere? I believe that may have been a problem with the first box that was sent out, but not with this one. As for the sunglasses, those who purchased this bag did it knowing they’d be getting one of many sunglasses, so those who purchased should have been okay with that. Also, it isn’t $34, with shipping it costs $30.99. As with all other subscription boxes, some people love it, and some don’t and everyone is in titled to their opinion 🙂
