I haven’t been making the bestfood choices lately. I love food, and tend to eat a lot of it, especially when it’s right in front of me! Desserts are my absolute weakness. When it comes to sweets, I just can’t say, “No”!
The Holidays seem to be a time when all we do is eat! From Thanksgiving, on through Christmas then New Year’s. All the Holiday parties bring lots of food. Then, there’s my husbands reasoning that we may as well eat all that we want now, and start fresh for the New Year. I wonder how many others make it their New Years Resolution to eat healthier? I do it every year, then half way through, my resolution goes right out the door! It’s hard. It’s never ending. It’s a struggle I must overcome!
The way I see it is, if I only have HEALTHY foods and treats around, then I’ll eat healthier, right? It’s simple really. So, I’ve decided to make it a point to buy more fresh fruit and veggies to snack on. I’m trying to cook healthier dinners for my family, and I’m trying to fill our pantry with HEALTHIER snacking options. If we’re going to snack, why not make it healthy? I also plan on baking healthier treats for any upcoming Holiday parties. I make a few really good ones, especially my Black Bean Brownies! Doesn’t sound great, but it’s so delicious. Chocolatey and fudgy, you would never realize they were made from black beans if I didn’t tell you.
Aside from fruits and veggies and healthy baked goods, I like to provide my family with a few healthy snacks they can get right off the shelf when they want a little something to eat. One awesome snack that I’m happy to have on hand are Crunchies Freeze Dried Fruit. Another great healthy treat option are The GFB Gluten Free Bites. They’re so tasty and they satisfy my sweet tooth. Best of all, they’re actually good for you! GFB Bites are non-GMO, vegan, soy-free, dairy free and gluten free. They’re also high in protein. Try them, and you won’t even realize that they’re actually good for you! GFB Bites come in a variety of flavors including Chocolate Cherry Almond Bites and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites (my favorite).
What are some healthy snacks you like to eat?

I’m fortunate I gave up sugar long ago, and you do get used to it. There’s lots of alternatives and I tend to like savory foods, with vinegar and different spices. I’ve started dehydrating some fruits and veggies and adding spices. They’re good for snacking.
