Horseback Riding in Hawaii

My girls love horses and going riding is always something they look forward to.  We really don’t get to bring them as often as they’d like, so when they do go, they are extra excited!  On this day, they chose to ride Ka’eo.  Ka’eo belongs to my parents.  He was born years ago, back when I was a little girl.  He’s over 20 years old, and still going!   He works as a tour horse for my parents company, the Waipi’o Ridge Stables.  They do trail rides that go along the rim of the Big Island’s beautiful Waipi’o Valley.

It’s fun doing things with kids, as we also feel like them. Have tried riding a horse years ago but was so scared, but surprisingly kids seemed to be having fun. Great adventure!

My friend use to have three horses and every time I visited her we would go horseback riding. I loved being on the horses, feeding them, and we even groomed them, I learned a lot from my friend about horses. Very beautiful animals. I hope to take my kids one day.
