Mother’s Day

We celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday night with my mom, sister’s and brother in-laws. We went to the Hakone Buffet at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. There was a nice selection of Japanese cuisine. My favorites were the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura and the Tonkatsu. It’s been a while since I got to dress up and go out to a nice restaurant, and it was great spending time with the family.

I was also super happy that I got to shop for this great womens dress (after browsing through plenty, of course), perfect for a Mother’s Day outing with the fam!

We had a good time overall. My house was full of people after a long time, and my mom couldn’t be happier. I still feel I need to do something more to make her feel special, like take her on a long vacation or do one of those she shed ideas that can serve as her relaxation space. Anyway, I could do those for her birthdays too. So on this Mother’s Day, I decided to head over to the beach. The sun was out, it was a beautiful day! It’s always nice to relax at the beach and swim in the cool, refreshing water. Swimming is my favorite form of exercise, and after all the food I ate the night before, I definitely needed that.

We finished the day with some 4D movies at The Shops at Mauna Lani. I should have stuck with just one movie! There was a special where we could watch 3 movies for the price of 2. Since the movies are pretty short, around 10-15 minutes each we decided to go for it. Big mistake! The first one was fun, but half way through the second movie I started feeling a bit dizzy, and by the third movie I was ready for it too be over! Motion sickness had gotten to me . With 4D movies you get a 3D experience plus the chairs move, you feel wind blowing at you, and can feel splashes of water. It’s pretty cool, but definitely NOT recommended for those with motion sickness.

All together it was an awesome weekend! I couldn’t have asked for a better Mother’s Day. I am so thankful for my family.

4D movies sound fun but I don’t think I could it for that long either. I can hardly stand a 3d movie, I don’t think I will like to move too!
