Waipi'o Valley is home to a beautiful Black Sand Beach. We spent the day there swimming in the river and playing in the sand! The river flows out to the ocean, but the ocean was too rough for the kids, so we stuck to the river! It was a beautiful sunny day. We need to have days like this more often. Keep reading...
Night Terrors
(This photo WAS NOT taken while she was experiencing a Night Terror)I moved my little one over as I got into bed, she tossed and turned and woke up screaming! "Oh, no! She's up", I thought. She's a light sleeper. Little did I know, she wasn't really up, she was in a deep sleep! She started climbing over my hubby and I trying to get off of the bed, as I tried to lift her, she screamed and cried and wriggled her way out of my grasp. I had my hubby turn the lights on, and still, she screamed. She couldn't be comforted by either of us. By this time she was off the bed, and although I Keep reading...
Pool Day at The Shores at Waikoloa
We had family visiting from Washington who's staying at The Shores, and they invited us over for a day of lounging at the pool. Of course, from the moment my daughter had heard about it, she was dying to go! She loves the pool, and we rarely ever get to go to one. It was an ugly rainy day in our area, so it was nice to get away from the rain and soak up some SUN!Beautiful..Isn't it?!Daddy teaching Kanai'a to swim with her floaties...She DID IT!! She's swimming all by herself (with the help of those arm floaties of course!)They LOVED the Pool, wish we had one at our house!View from the Keep reading...

Homemade Slip n’ Slide
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday, and we had no plans. So, we decided to make a big slip n' slide down our hill. The kids had a blast! We used a big tarp and Dawn dishwashing liquid to get it slippery. We do own one of those store bought slip n' slides, and it works well enough, but it's so narrow that the kids usually slide off the sides. That wasn't gonna happen with this one! It was the perfect way to spend a little FUN in the SUN! Keep reading...
I have a BITER! What to do…what to do?
My daughter is nearly 20 months old, and she is a biter! I brought it up at her 18 month check up, and what does her pediatrician tell me? She said she's heard Tobasco works! Really? Tobasco? I honestly couldn't believe THAT was the advice my pediatrician was giving me! I've been given advice from others to, everything from BITING her back! to time outs. I've tried time outs, but it DOES NOT work with this little one! She's a feisty one, and extremely stubborn and strong minded. I wasn't about to BITE her back, so that was out of the question, and Tobasco, well I did end up giving it a Keep reading...

Waipi’o Ridge Stables – Horseback on the Big Island of Hawaii
If you are planning to visit the Big Island of Hawaii, there is one place on the Island that you MUST see. In my opinion, it is the most BEAUTIFUL spot on the Big Island, and not to be missed. Waipi'o Valley, the "Valley of the Kings" lies on the northern end of the Big Island. From the lookout you'll be able to see magnificent views of the valley below including taro patches and a black sand beach. Although the valley is only accessible with 4-wheel drive vehicles, you can always hike down if you really want to explore! Let me warn you though, the hike is strenuous! Once in the Keep reading...

We enjoyed our Sunday at the beach. We haven't been in a while, so the girls were really excited! It started off a little cloudy, but the day turned out beautiful. They swam, played in the sand, and even got to see a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle lounging on the sand! We really need to get to the beach more often. Keep reading...

Best apple App for Toddlers – Elmo Calls
Who doesn't like Elmo? My 18 month old daughter LOVES the Elmo Calls app. We don't have an iPhone, but I uploaded it on my 5 year olds iPad. My little one asks her big sister for "Elmo" all the time, and she won't stop asking until the Elmo Calls app is on. There are both audio and video calls as well as voicemail. Her absolute favorite is the one with the cow, where Elmo, says "moo..moo..moo". She sits there and "moo's" at the screen, then wants to watch it all over again! For some reason, she isn't interested in watching any of the other "calls" from Elmo, all she wants is the one Keep reading...
