Strawberry 2nd Birthday Party

Strawberry 2nd Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated my daughters 2nd birthday with an adorable Strawberry themed birthday party. This wasn't a Strawberry Shortcake Party as I don't normally do character parties, and my daughter has no idea who Strawberry Shortcake is. The Birthday Girl wore a cute strawberry appliquéd tank top from Makmaydesigns. The strawberries were made with a hot pink fabric with red polka dots. I added on a tutu skirt, and it became the perfect attire for a strawberry birthday party! She also loved her princess crown, and wore it proudly. As far as hosting her Keep reading...

Getting Healthy – 1 month of INSANITY Workouts, 1 more to go

Getting Healthy – 1 month of INSANITY Workouts, 1 more to go

So, it's been a month since my husband and I started the INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program. It actually went by a lot faster than I had expected. Has it gotten easier? No, not really! I really thought it would start to get easier, but I'm still dripping with sweat by the end of my workout. I do notice some differences though. For one, in the beginning, I would get so tired that I'd have to stop and take breaks a lot more often, or I'd just jog in place instead of doing the workout they were doing because I just couldn't do it. I was completely out of shape! When it Keep reading...

Making Money Online – Affiliate Networks for Bloggers

I like to earn as much money as possible through online sources, and through the years I have tried a ton of different services. I've done everything from paid to reading e-mails and taking surveys, and now I'm a blogger. It may not have been just for money that I started blogging, but it seems like an attractive hobby to me. Like blogging has helped me earn money, there are many other types of Hobbies that can help you generate income. It is generally easier for me to take on work that is really interesting to me because I am not under a great deal of pressure. Since I usually enjoy Keep reading...

Weird Spiral In The Sky

Weird Spiral In The Sky

I've been wanting to share these pictures for a while, but I kept forgetting to post it.  We were at the beach a couple weeks ago, when I saw the weirdest thing, a SPIRAL in the sky!  What's funny is, you could barely see it with your bare eyes.  I had put on my husbands polarized sunglasses to protect my eyes from the bright sun and that is when I saw the spiral.   I took off the glasses and the spiral was barely noticeable.  I probably would have never noticed it if it had not been for the polarized sunglasses.  I have NO idea what it was.  Does anyone know?  I've done a Keep reading...

Getting Healthy – Insanity Workout & changing the way we eat!!

Getting Healthy – Insanity Workout & changing the way we eat!!

My husband and I have decided to get healthy, get in shape, and lose some weight! We started on Monday July 24th. We have changed our diet, no more junk food! It was actually getting pretty ridiculous, I was eating way too many junk foods, and not giving it a second thought! Ice cream, cookies, chocolates, I'd eat it daily, and it was NOT good for my health or my weight! I must have gained 10 pounds in just a few months. My husband loves dessert just as much as I do and was always asking me to bake a batch of brownies or his favorite Peach dump cake. Between the two of us and our daughters, we Keep reading...

Blogger to WordPress – I Did It!

Blogger to WordPress – I Did It!

I recently made the switch from Blogger to WordPress, and I am very glad I did!  It was a decision I took a while to make, but after asking other bloggers, I came to the conclusion that making the move was a good idea.  I can honestly say I didn't have any problems with blogger, but the possibility of Google shutting my blog down did scare me!  Although it is a possibility, I dot think it happens very often.  But there is a chance, and that's a chance I don't want to take!  I also felt I would have a lot more options with WordPress.  And..I was right!   There's a lot you can do to customize Keep reading...

RECIPE: Thick & Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Some people like their cookies crunchy, I like mine soft and chewy!  I've tried a lot of different recipes for chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and had yet to find the perfect one, until today!  These cookies are good!  They are not only chewy, but nice and thick too.  I've tried making thick cookies in the past, but they usually ended up flattening out as they baked.  These cookies stay nice and fat, and they are soft with just a little bit of crunch at the tops.  Yum!I got the recipe over at Beautiful Disasters.  I looked through a few recipes after doing a google search for "thick and Keep reading...

How to make Homemade Dog Shampoo

My dog Rasta was badly in need of a bath yesterday but we had run out of dog shampoo. I searched online for a homemade dog shampoo recipe and came across a few. Different kinds of dogs need different types of shampoos so that it doesn't affect or impair their other senses. For example, bed bug sniffing dogs need products that won't affect their ability to smell. Similarly, racetrack dogs need products that would enhance instead of impair their speed and dexterity. For Rasta, I didn't follow an exact recipe, but I used the ingredients that most of the recipes called for. For my recipe, all Keep reading...

Griffin Survivor iPad 2 Case Review – Durable & Great for Kids!

As soon as we purchased my daughter's iPad I knew it was very important to get her a PROTECTIVE and durable case.  I wasn't about to spend $500, and NOT have it protected.  After doing some research, I finally decided on the Griffin Survivor.  There weren't a whole lot of reviews on the Griffin Survivor, but I found a great video on You Tube where she reviewed the best iPad cases for kids.  I also read the reviews on Amazon before making my decision.  The Griffin Survivor for the iPad 2 really is a nice and durable case.  It protects the iPad very well, and I don't worry about my daughter Keep reading...

Under The Sea Mermaid Birthday Party

Under The Sea Mermaid Birthday Party

We celebrated my baby girls first birthday yesterday with an "under the sea" themed party. It was a whole lot of fun! I'm so proud of myself for making the sign and decorations. I'm not the craftiest, but when I put my mind to something, I can definitely get it done. I think it all came out pretty good, being it's the first time I made everything on my own. My goal was too make it nice and cute while sticking to a budget.     I made the "Happy Birthday" sign using assorted colors of cardstock. After gluing the letters onto each piece, I joined each square together Keep reading...
