Kanai'a turned 2 today! Where oh where has the time gone? My little baby is growing up. She is my crazy girl! My little monster. Always up to something, and always on the go. Happy Birthday Kanai'a! Born a few weeks early at 36 weeks. Kanai'a was tiny weighing in at just 5 lbs. 13 oz. at birth. By her 4th month weight check she had gained nearly 10 pounds! She was such a CHUBBY baby! She's always been so active, and full of energy! She keeps me going! Keep reading...
Family Day – Fun at the Waterfall & Stuck in the Mud
It was a beautiful sunny morning so we decided it was the perfect day to drive up to the waterfall. There's a beautiful pond there that's nice, cold and refreshing! We packed up some peanut butter sandwiches for lunch along with some water and we were on our way! It's about a 45 minute drive being that we have to drive slowly on an unpaved, bumpy dirt road to get to the waterfall, but the drive is well worth it. Road trips are often a part of our lives. As a family, we love to drive to nearby spots every now and then. They are also a great way to spend time together and have fun along Keep reading...
School Bus
We live a little over 10 miles away from my daughter's Elementary School, so driving her to school every day takes a lot of time and gas. As you can imagine, this isn't ideal, but when it comes to the education of my children, they deserve the best. But I just wish it was closer. I know that most countries, like the UK, have catchment areas explained to them so they can find the best school in their area. I'm hoping for their sake that it is under 10 miles, but that is up to them to decide, I guess. My daughter is none the wiser when it comes to how far away it is, which I'm grateful for. Keep reading...
Getting Healthy – 1 month of INSANITY Workouts, 1 more to go
So, it's been a month since my husband and I started the INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program. It actually went by a lot faster than I had expected. Has it gotten easier? No, not really! I really thought it would start to get easier, but I'm still dripping with sweat by the end of my workout. I do notice some differences though. For one, in the beginning, I would get so tired that I'd have to stop and take breaks a lot more often, or I'd just jog in place instead of doing the workout they were doing because I just couldn't do it. I was completely out of shape! When it Keep reading...
Weird Spiral In The Sky
I've been wanting to share these pictures for a while, but I kept forgetting to post it. We were at the beach a couple weeks ago, when I saw the weirdest thing, a SPIRAL in the sky! What's funny is, you could barely see it with your bare eyes. I had put on my husbands polarized sunglasses to protect my eyes from the bright sun and that is when I saw the spiral. I took off the glasses and the spiral was barely noticeable. I probably would have never noticed it if it had not been for the polarized sunglasses. I have NO idea what it was. Does anyone know? I've done a Keep reading...
Getting Healthy – Insanity Workout & changing the way we eat!!
My husband and I have decided to get healthy, get in shape, and lose some weight! We started on Monday July 24th. We have changed our diet, no more junk food! It was actually getting pretty ridiculous, I was eating way too many junk foods, and not giving it a second thought! Ice cream, cookies, chocolates, I'd eat it daily, and it was NOT good for my health or my weight! I must have gained 10 pounds in just a few months. My husband loves dessert just as much as I do and was always asking me to bake a batch of brownies or his favorite Peach dump cake. Between the two of us and our daughters, we Keep reading...
1st Day of Kindergarten!
Today was my daughters first day of Kindergarten! She was very excited! We got up early, got ready, and all was fine. It was on the ride to school that I had noticed she had become a little quieter than usual. I think as we got close to the school the realization set in and she became nervous! She stayed by my and her daddy's side as we got her supplies put away, and found her cubby. She then signed in, and it was time for us to go. As soon as she gave her daddy a hug, her eyes filled with tears! My poor baby! I thought she'd have no problem as she's been in preschool for Keep reading...
Preschool Graduation
My daughter just graduated from preschool! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It was a great graduation ceremony with lots of friends and family. The kids each wore a cap and gown, they looked adorable! They sang a few songs and told the audience what they wanted to be when they grew up. So, what do they want to be? A fireman, scuba diver, hunter, and bus driver were some of the boys responses. The girls wanted to be makeup artists, nail technicians, mommy's, nurses, and my daughter said she wants to be a hula teacher! The ceremony ended with a slide show featuring the Keep reading...
4th of July
We had a lazy 4th of July. Our day was spent hanging out at home. The kids enjoyed playing with Pops and Morning Glorys. After a nice family dinner we lit some fountains. How did you spend your 4th of July Holiday? Keep reading...
A Walk through my yard – Plants of Hawaii
Do you like being in your yard? I hope you do, because I certainly love seeing the plants and flowers we have throughout. When we decide to spruce up our homes, whether it be through remodelling, or rearranging the interior design to fit a seasonal style, quite a few of us actually bypass the outdoor area and don't give it that much thought. We may fence it off with a Fence contractor in Wilmington, NC, for example, to heighten security and give it a neat look, or we might tidy it up every now and then, but it doesn't fill our minds. It is understandable if we do not spend a lot of time out Keep reading...
Pool Days at the Fairway Villas in Waikoloa
In Hawaii, we're surrounded by the beach, and we get to go often. But, pool days are pretty rare. So, having a pool day is a special treat! We were lucky to have had a pool day a couple weeks ago, so when I found out we'd be staying a night at the Fairway Villas, I was looking forward to more time lounging at the pool! We were spending time with my cousins. Family time is always nice. The Fairway Villas had an infinity pool that was absolutely beautiful. The only problem with that, as I later found out, is it isn't so safe for 21-month-olds who like to climb. A lot of parents tend to Keep reading...
Nature Scavenger Hunt
Hey there, fellow nature enthusiasts! With summer in full swing, my kids are home and itching for some adventure. Fortunately, we have a spacious yard just waiting to be explored. That's when I had a brilliant idea – a Nature Scavenger Hunt! But before we dive into the thrill of the hunt, let's take a moment to appreciate and understand the incredible ecosystem right in our backyard. As we gear up for this exciting scavenger hunt, it's essential to remember our responsibility towards Mother Nature. That includes not only appreciating but also taking care of the majestic trees that provide Keep reading...
